Thermakraft is delighted to join forces with Kingspan.

Following a trade sale that concluded in July, Thermakraft Ltd joins Kingspan's Asia Pacific Insulation Division. Kingspan Insulation is a global market leader in high performance rigid foam insulation and building envelope solutions, supplying both the residential and commercial building segments with higher performing insulation.

This is great recognition of the quality of the Thermakraft team and products in the New Zealand and Australian markets – and of the market leading position we hold in this part of the world.

This is also great news for Thermakraft customers – as we now have access to the resources and expertise that has seen Kingspan grow to cover 70 countries and 170 manufacturing sites around the world.

Thermakraft has a 34 year history of supplying building wraps and roofing underlay in New Zealand, across a broad range of building merchants and is New Zealand’s leading breathable membrane and underlay manufacturer. In recent years, Thermakraft has made significant in-roads into the Australian market with the acquisition of the Australian Mesh (Ausmesh) business in 2017.

Until now, Kingspan has supplied most of its range of high performance insulation products into New Zealand directly from its modern manufacturing facility in Melbourne.

Kingspan Insulation products will complement Thermakraft’s range by providing next generation insulation solutions into the evolving requirements of the New Zealand insulation market, satisfying the need for better insulated, condensation resistant buildings.

Dwayne Warby, Managing Director, Thermakraft stated, “The acquisition will merge our two brands and allow a wider range of products and expertise to be offered to the New Zealand and Australian markets. While we will have a new owner, our company will remain the same, continuing to manufacture its market leading products under our well-established Thermakraft and Ausmesh Brands”.

Warby continued, “This is an extremely exciting opportunity for us as a team to be part of something bigger, while remaining true to our values and our culture”.

This is a significant strategic acquisition for Kingspan in New Zealand, as it seeks to capitalise on Thermakraft’s leading market position and the product synergies that exist between high performance insulation and synthetic building membranes.

“We are delighted to welcome Dwayne Warby and the Thermakraft team into the Kingspan family, it is a fantastic business with enduring brands and terrific people in both Australia and New Zealand”, Scott Gibson, Managing Director Kingspan Insulation APAC.

Home lifesaver supports beach lifesavers There’s a synergy between the activities of Thermakraft and Piha Surf Life Saving Club. Our products save homes from water; the club saves people from water. We’re proud to be a long-standing supporter of Piha Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC), one of the oldest life-saving clubs in New Zealand. Every year our sponsorship helps the club to stay afloat, so that Piha beach is a safer place to swim. Founded in 1934 by a group of players from the Waitemata Rugby Club, Piha SLSC pioneered the use of surf rescue boats and Malibu boards for rescuing swimmers. Thousands of children have gained surf life-saving skills through the club, with many more to come.
